Tips For Your Future Floats
Our staff has put together a list of tips in response to common comments and questions from fellow floaters, as well as what we’ve personally found useful. Whether you’re a first-timer or a seasoned floater, we hope these suggestions help you feel completely at ease and get the most out of your float!
End your pre-float shower with cool water if you want the tank water to feel warmer.
Don’t be afraid to move your arms around if they aren’t comfortable.
Experiment with floating at different times of day. Morning floats can help to orient yourself to your day, while evening floats can function as way to wind down. A midday float might serve as a rejuvenating siesta.
Crack open the tank door if the air feels hot or stuffy.
If you “come to” midway during a float and are struggling to get back into it, hopping out to rinse off and then reentering the tank can help reset you.
Keep in mind that there’s no “wrong” way to float. Some floats are deep and meditative, but they can be playful too.
To avoid/minimize drifting into the wall: Steady yourself in the tank with your arms or your legs until the water is calm, then gently pull them back in. If you do hit a wall, don’t react or push off, or you’ll ping pong around in there.
Along with fresh socks and underwear, consider bringing an extra comfortable outfit to change into post-float.
Floating more often
The more you float, the better it gets.
Like meditation, the beneficial effects of floating increase with practice. Sometimes it can take a few floats before you really get into it. If you weren’t able to fully relax on your first float, there’s a good chance your next float will be better.
Save money when you float regularly.
Ask us about setting up recurring appointments. Also, our membership comes with some pretty cool perks and it also brings down the individual price of floating. Floats associated with our membership plan are also shareable, because who wouldn’t want the ones they love to be as floaty as them?
